How much does it hurt to have an implant removed?

The procedure is completely painless and usually takes 2 to 10 minutes per implant—thanks to our professional equipment and—in this regard as well—our many years of experience.

How many implants can be removed at one time?

As many as you like. Since it’s quick and easy with the equipment we use, we usually remove 5–10 of them in a single session…and they’ll become “lifelong” patients of ours, and we’ll be the ones making new implant-supported dentures for those who’ve had a rough time…because we offer a 10-year full warranty. This becomes a strong argument in our favor, especially for someone who has already had the misfortune of having their implants—which were only a few years old—removed.

How many months from now can I move on to the next stage of treatment?

After a 3-month healing period, bone grafting can be performed at the site of the removal, and—if all goes well—a new implant can be placed immediately. If it is not necessary to place a new implant in the same location after the removal of the old one—but rather to fabricate a new dental prosthesis to be attached to the remaining teeth, to existing implants, or to implants placed elsewhere—then the waiting period is only 2 months.

Why is it so simple and quick at the Halász Clinic? — whereas at most other places, the procedure can take up to 1–2 hours. How is the implant removed?

It is no coincidence that Nobel Biocare is the world’s largest implantology company, founded in 1965. It manufactures countless specialized adapters that can be used to remove 90% of the world’s implants…you just need to have (and purchase) the adapters for every existing implant shape and size for the Removal Tool Kit. How it works: In well over half of the cases, we simply unscrew the implant using the adapter. As the implant is unscrewed, the adapter wedges itself deeper and deeper into the implant, allowing a high torque to be applied to the implant; with this force, the implant “breaks away” from the bone COMPLETELY PAINLESSLY in the blink of an eye, and can then be unscrewed. If the implant does not start to come loose with this adapter, a set of crown drills is included, with diameters in 0.5 mm increments. With these, we can easily and quickly separate the bone from the implant’s thread in a matter of minutes, making it possible to unscrew the implant.

Először CT készült, hogy biztosan kiderüljön, kell-e gyökérkezelés — végül szerencsére nem volt rá szükség. Alapos, precíz és megnyugtató volt végig, közben mindent érthetően elmondott. First, a CT scan was done to make sure whether a root canal treatment would be necessary — fortunately, it wasn’t.
