Oral Hygiene
The conscientious work of our dental hygienists is the cornerstone of our clinic’s efforts to prevent dental disease. Regular and thorough tartar removal must always be followed by polishing.
Extremely thorough tartar removal is „only” the first step in the fight against periodontal disease (periodontitis) and tooth loss! We have implemented the most rigorous oral hygiene treatment protocol for cases of periodontal disease. Adherence to this comprehensive, well-thought-out, and strictly followed protocol is half the battle.
During the dental hygiene phase of gum disease treatment, we record various indices: plaque, bleeding, pus, and periodontal status. We objectively measure not only the severity of the gum disease but also the healing process. Furthermore, we assess the thoroughness of the patient’s oral hygiene and its progress. After this preventive treatment phase, if necessary, sufficiently committed patients may be referred to our periodontist for further treatment.
At the Halász Clinic, the rate of complications and treatment failures is extremely low. One of the key factors behind this is rigorous and thorough periodontal preparation. This is because the inflammation-causing bacteria living in inflamed gums and deep pockets inevitably enter the area of the bone graft or implant site via saliva. Therefore, by establishing, implementing, and adhering to a precisely structured periodontal treatment plan, we must eliminate these bacteria from the mouth. Only after this is completed do we proceed with oral surgery for the patient.
You say we’re not cheap?! Yes, these treatments also require materials and labor. Ultimately, these factors drive up the cost of treatment. But the risk of complications is minimal, recovery is less painful and shorter, and the final result lasts for years.
